As the summer draws steadily nearer, the Epic team are gearing up for another show season. This year we’re happy to announce we’ll be returning to some of our old stomping grounds for a total of four shows throughout the summer!
Following on from our appearance at the Stoneleigh Militaria Show, we’ve planned out our summer show schedule. We will be returning to Wicksteed at War and Tankfest in June and in July we’ll be at the Yorkshire Wartime Experience and the War and Peace Revival shows.
Our first show will be Wicksteed at War on 10-11 June. Although this will only be our second year at the show, we are looking forward to starting off our season there. Last year, we had a great time enjoying the great atmosphere and meeting many fellow WW2 enthusiasts. We particularly enjoyed watching the daily large scale battle re-enactments which took place very close to our stall! This year we’re hoping to catch a glimpse of the flypast too. Wicksteed at War is one of the biggest militaria shows in the UK and last year it hosted over 15000 visitors. This year there’s lots to look forward to including some Vietnam War re-enactment courtesy of the “Rolling Thunder” re-enactment group (who we featured in our blog a year ago).
Our second stop of the summer will be down in Bovington for Tankfest 2017. Running from 24-25 June, Tankfest has been one of our most enjoyable shows of the past years. With armour from all over the world and full-on displays, this show certainly has the ability to captivate anyone present. With over 100 years of armoured history on display, this year promises to be one of the best shows yet. We have always done a roaring trade at Tankfest and we are looking forward to seeing large numbers of customers this year too!
Our third show of the summer will be the Yorkshire Wartime Experience running on the weekend of 7-9 July. This will be our third time at the show and, based on our previous experience, we’re looking forward to it very much! With over 500 military vehicles and 50 re-enactment groups taking part, there’s going to be plenty to enjoy. Last year we had the privilege of meeting some great re-enactors and we hope this year will be the same.
Our final show of the summer will be 25-29 July at the War and Peace Revival in Kent. It’s always been our biggest and busiest show and we’re not expecting this year to be any different. With battle re-enactments, vehicle displays, musical performances and other entertainment, there’s never any shortage of things to do and see. We’ll be there for the whole week so be sure to pay us a visit!
We’re really looking forward to our season of shows this year. We’re excited to meet fellow militaria enthusiasts and catch up with some old friends as well as making new ones. Be sure to come and visit us at our stall too!
