As the Summer draws near, the team at Epic are getting ready for another show season. We are excited to announce two new events this year, for a grand total of SIX shows!
Continuing on from our appearance at the Stoneleigh Militaria Show in January, we have our Summer Show lineup all planned out. Our action packed season starts with first time appearances at, Temple at War and the Ironbridge World War 2 Weekend. Followed by our regular appearances at, Wicksteed at War, Tankfest 2018, the Yorkshire Wartime Experience and the War & Peace Revival.
Our first stop this summer is Temple at War on 12-13 May. This will be our first appearance at Temple and we are looking forward to meeting a new crowd. Set in the heart of Essex the show hosts spectacular military vehicles, 1940’s entertainment and full Battle displays. There will be over 900 re-enactors showcasing the last 100 years of Military History.
Our second stop and second new show will be at the Ironbridge World War 2 Weekend on 26-27 May. With the beautiful Ironbridge Gorge as a backdrop, this event recreates life during WW2 on the home front and in occupied Europe with civilian, Allied and Axis re-enactors. Last year there were over 10,000 visitors and we are certain this year will be even bigger with Epic in attendance.
Our third stop will be Wicksteed at War on 9-10 June. This will be our third year at Wicksteed. Last year, we had a great time enjoying the great atmosphere and meeting many fellow WW2 enthusiasts. We particularly enjoyed watching the daily large scale battle re-enactments which took place very close to our stall! This year we’re hoping to catch a glimpse of the flypast too. Wicksteed at War is one of the biggest militaria shows in the UK and last year it hosted over 18,000 visitors.
Our fourth stop is down at the Tank Museum in Bovington for Tankfest 2018. From the 29th of June to the 1st of July. Tankfest has been one of our most enjoyable shows of the past years. With armour from all over the world and full-on displays, this show certainly has the ability to captivate anyone present. With over 100 years of armoured history on display, this year promises to be one of the best shows yet. We have always done a roaring trade at Tankfest and we are looking forward to seeing large numbers of customers this year too!
Our fifth show is at the Yorkshire Wartime Experience on 6-8 July. This will be our fourth time at the show and, based on our previous experience, we’re looking forward to it very much! With over 500 military vehicles and 50 re-enactment groups taking part, there’s going to be plenty to enjoy. Last year we had the privilege of meeting some great re-enactors and we hope this year will be the same.
Our sixth and final show this year is at the War & Peace Revival in Kent, from the 24th – 28th July. It’s always been our biggest and busiest show and we’re not expecting this year to be any different. With battle re-enactments, vehicle displays, musical performances and other entertainment, there’s never any shortage of things to do and see. We’ll be there for the whole week so be sure to pay us a visit!
We are really looking forward to this year’s show season. We’re excited to meet fellow militaria enthusiasts and catch up with some old friends as well as making new ones. Be sure to come and visit us at our stall too!
